Staff

MAPS is staffed by physicians Board Certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology. Having seen and treated thousands of dermatologic patients, this perspective lends a unique awareness to the dermatopatholgy skills when interpreting slides. MAPS has over 30 years of combined technical staff experience working in the laboratory, including certified histotechinicans. The business is supported by a billing and insurance staff, including a certified coding specialist.

MAPS has a Director of Business Development with over 13 years of professional sales experience in the field of dermatology. Her role serves two important functions of recruiting new business and assuring satisfaction with our existing clients. MAPS also has an employed courier for the Indianapolis market, making daily specimen pick-ups Monday through Friday.

Ryan K. Brashear, MD

Ryan K. Brashear, M.D., a native of Southern Indiana, joined Mid-America Pathology Services in September, 2003. Dr. Brashear is Board Certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology.

Dr. Brashear received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from Rose Hulman University in Terre Haute, Indiana. He completed his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine in 1999. Dr. Brashear completed his dermatology residency and his dermatopathology fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Brashear is the Medical Director of Mid-America Pathology Services and the lead dermatopathologist interpreting slides. He serves as a Volunteer Clinical Professor for the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program at the Indiana University School of Medicine, training fellows as they rotate through the MAPS’ laboratory. Dr. Brashear continues a busy practice in medical/surgical dermatology. Dr. Brashear’s professional affiliations include the Indiana Dermatological Society, Fellow in the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatopathology and the Indiana Medical Society.

Gary P. Dillon, MD

Gary P. Dillon, M.D. cofounded Fort Wayne Dermatology and practiced medical/surgical dermatology for nearly thirty years. Dr. Dillon is Board Certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology.

Dr. Dillon received his undergraduate degree from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He completed his medical degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Dillon completed his dermatology residency and his dermatopathology fellowship at the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Dillon is a Past President of the Indiana Dermatological Society. He has always been active in his community having served as Medical Staff President of Whitley County Hospital, as President of the Whitley County Board of Health, as Medical Director of Whitley County Hospice and as President of the Whitley County Consolidated School Board. Dr. Dillon is a two term State Representative and a two term State Senator. While in the Indiana Legislature, he served as Chairman of the Health Committee of the National Council of State Legislators and Chairman of the Ethics Committee in the Indiana Senate. Dr. Dillon is a part time Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
